In 1910 he and his wife and son lived on School Street in Amherst, Lorain County, Ohio. In September 1915 his family moved from Amherst to Elyria, Lorain County where he was employed. In 1920 he and his wife and sons Raymond and Earl lived in Amherst. In 1940 he and his wife lived in Amherst. He served 14 years on the council and 12 years as mayor of Amherst. He operated Kane Implement and Supply Co. in Elyria.
He died at a hospital in Amherst.
