According to Allen Huelskamp, her baptismal sponsors were two single persons from Arbach, Peter Schaeffer and Susanna Haerig. The witnesses to her wedding were Johann Diederich of Lirstal and Johann Haerig of Retterath.
Johann and Susanna were related with 4th degree consanguinity (possibly third cousins) and received a dispensation to marry.
Her brother Johann immigrated to Wisconsin in 1846.

According to Allen Huelskamp, Johann’s baptismal sponsors were two single persons, Johann Diederich of Lirstal, and Maria Wirtz of Retterath.
In 1816 the following children of Johann and Susanna were confirmed [using the spelling of the names in the church record: Michael, Mathias, Maria, Margaretha, Catharina, Nicolaus and Joannes.
According to Huelskamp, Johann died during an epidemic.
