Johann Hubert Zens of Stiltzhausen was one of Johann Hubert’s baptismal sponsors as was Maria Magdalene Balthasar, a single woman from Klotten. Johann Hubert Zens was the villicus (overseer) of Stiltzhausen. He was the third husband of Sophie Jungclas (married after 1777), who was originally from Illerich. Her first husband (married in 1759) was the widower Johann Claas of Stiltzhausen, probably the second cousin of Johann Peter Laubach. Her second husband was Anton Keess of Esperhof, also a widower who bacame hoffman of Stiltzhausen about the time he married Sophie Jungclas in 1773.
Maria Magdalene Balthasar was born about 1760 in Klotten to Cornelius Balthasar and Maria Gertrud Goebel. She married Robert Thomas of Klotten in 1786, son of Johann Theodore Thomas and Anna Gertrud Keess. Her brother Marcus Joseph married Gertrud Keess, daughter of Anton Keess and Sophie Jungclas of Stiltzhausen in 1791.
