His baptismal sponsors were his uncle Johann Franz Laubach of Klotten and Elisabeth Kraemer, widow of Illerich. Johann Franz Laubach was the brother of Johann Peter. He married Anna Sophie Claas of Klotten in 1779 and lived in Klotten. Elisabeth Kraemer may have been Elisabeth Deusen, daughter of Adam Deusen and Maria Kalsch of Hambuch who was born in 1728. She married Nikolaus Kraemer in 1752 and they lived in Illerich. He died in 1774 and she died in 1786.
