He enlisted in the National Guard on May 31, 1917. He was “12 1/2% disabled” when he was honorably discharged on June 11, 1918 after fighting in World War I. In September of 1918 he reported on his draft registration card that he was an “ex soldier unemployed.”
In 1930 he and his wife lived in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. They had three roomers. In 1942 and 1957 he lived with his wife Marion in Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga County. He resided in Chagrin Falls and died at a hospital in Mayfield Heights, Cuyahoga County.
