In 1850 he lived with his mother in Brownhelm Township, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1860 and 1870 he lived with his wife Hannah and his mother in Brownhelm. In 1870 they lived adjacent to the home of Henry Kane and his family.
In 1863 he may have registered for the Civil War draft as E. R. Andrews, age 33.
Notes for Hannah (Anna) (Spouse 1)
Source: www.findagrave.com; and Ancestry.com—Elyria Daily Telephone, December 27, 1886.
Her father was from New York and her mother was from Ohio.
Her marriage to Henry Kane was her second marriage. The notice in the Elyria Daily Telephone that she and Henry Kane had been granted a license to marry listed Hannah Andrews as her name.
The 1900 census reported that she was from Ohio, and the 1910 census reported that she was from Michigan. Earlier censuses gave Michigan as her birthplace.
