The Hughes-Cook Family Tree was the source of the identification of Matthias Raphael, the son of Adam Diederich and Anna Thome, as the husband of Katharine Berres (or Barres). Barbara Schichtel provided the baptismal information.
In 1900 Matthias and his wife and children lived in North Ridgeville, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1910 he and his wife and children lived in Elyria, Lorain County. In 1920 he and his wife and three of their children lived in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. IN 1930 he and his wife and their daughters Marcella and Waline lived in Cleveland.
His funeral mass was held at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church in Cleveland.
