The 1920 census reported that he was from Poland. He immigrated in 1873 and became a naturalized citizen of the United States. In 1880 he was a boarder, living with the John and Gertrude Klein family, as well as with John Cichy and his wife Anna Klein, their two sons John and William, and Christian Cichy who was also a boarder, in Columbia, Lorain County, Ohio.
In 1900 and 1910 he and his family lived in Olmsted Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. John Cichy and his wife Mary Klein, the sister of Frank’s wife, and their family lived nearby.
Although the census listed his name and his children’s names as Cichy, his children used the name Sheak.
