He lived with his parents in North Ridgeville, Lorain County, Ohio in 1900. He lived in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio at the time of the 1910 census. The marriage license application in April of 1920 reported that Peter Joseph was a widower having been married once.
When he married in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan in 1925, both he and his wife were residents of Cleveland. Peter reported have been married twice before, and Mary A. McDonald James [i.e., Alexia] reported having been married once before.
He appears to have adopted Alexia’s children.
His death information comes from a letter that his wife Alexia M. Diederich testified to. However the information she gave in the letter about his birth year may be wrong. The 1900 census gives his birth month as December 1885.
