Source: Ancestry.com—Michigan, Marriage Records, 1867-1952; Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Marriage Records and Indexes, 1810-1973; and www.findagrave.com.
In 1880 Mary lived with her parents and two siblings in Amherst Township, Lorain County, Ohio. A Catholic priest officiated at her marriage in 1895. The 1900 census reported that Mary was a 25-year-old widow who had been married for five years. She had given birth to two children but neither was living. She was living with a friend in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
The marriage license record from 1902 lists her parents as Frank Pauly and Elizabeth Turnis. It says she had not previously been married but gives her name as Mrs. Mary B. Flood. The maiden name Turnis given for her mother may have resulted from a confusion with the maiden name of her father’s mother, Anna Christine Ternes.
The 1910 census reported that she had not had any children.
