John and Margaret were 3rd cousins. They were the gg grandchildren of Anton Ackermann and Margarete Gilles.
He and his wife apparently witnessed the wedding of Emma Diederich to Nickolas Weber in 1855--they were siblings of the groom and bride respectively.
In 1910 he and his children lived in Carlisle, Lorain County, Ohio. Carlisle is sometimes included within Elyria.
