In 1880 he lived with his parents in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. In 1900 he lived with his wife Bridget Deasy and her children Catherine, George, Helen and Joseph and a boarder, Dennis Deasy, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. In 1910 he lived in Chicago with his wife Martha and two children from his second marriage.
In 1930 he lived in Chicago with a servant, Maria Mrzanac. He died on either October 18 or 22, 1931.

The census record in 1880 reported Youngkind as her family name. The marriage record gave Yungkind as her maiden name. There are two such records, one dated 1881 and one the same day in 1882.
As of 1900 she had had five children, three of whom were living. The census reported that she was a widow.
