His son John was born about 1842 in Germany, and his son Jacob was born in about 1844 in Ohio. He and his family must have immigrated about 1843. In 1850 he and his children lived in Avon Township, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1870 he lived with his son Mathias, Mathias’ wife Mary A., and their two sons, Anthony and Joseph in Avon.
