In 1860 he lived with his brother Phillip and his mother Anna in Sheffield Township, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1870 he lived in Pleasant Township, Henry County, Ohio with his wife and two children. In 1880 he and his wife lived in Pleasant Township with their four children.
In 1900 he lived in Pleasant Township with seven children. The census reported that he was born in August of 1844 and immigrated in 1855. However he had immigrated in 1843.
