Notes for Anna Schomer

Source of information about her second marriage: Records of St. Martin and St. Severus Catholic Church in Muenstermaifeld.
Her maiden name was also spelled Schommer. Her parents were Matthias Schomer and Katharine of Mertloch.
She was a baptismal sponsor in 1698 for Anna, the daughter of Severus Kevenheim and Christine Schneider of Eltzermuehle, Wirschem, and in 1699 for Emmerich, the son of Johann Anton Dietzeler and Anna Katharine Schmidt of Muenstermaifeld.
Notes for Matthias (Spouse 1)
Source of the name of Anna Schomer’s husband, his occupation, and the date and place of their wedding: Manfred Ruettgers. Source of Matthias’ place of residence and of the place and date of his death: Records of St. Martin and St. Severus Catholic Church in Muenstermaifeld. The FB Muenstermaifeld gives his date of death as 8 OCtober 1683, but that is an error. The death notice says his wife died that day.
He was a baptismal sponsor in 1665 for Matthias, the son of Philipp Muench and Katharine of Keldung; in 1671 for Matthias, the son of Balthasar Kevenheim and Anna Maria of Keldung; in 1676 for Margarete, the daughter of Matthias Meurer and Agnes of Keldung; in 1678 for Maria Christine, the daughter of Johann Henn and Maria of Keldung; in 1679 for Agnes, the daughter of Anton Braun and Ursula of Keldung; in 1683 for Matthias, the son of Johann Meurer and Katharine of Keldung; in 1686 for Margarete, the daughter of Peter Eichorn and Maria in Keldung; and in 1700 for Matthias, the son of his brother Johann Jacob Suesterhenn and Anna Jungen of Muenstermaifeld.
He may have been a baptismal sponsor in 1672 for Matthias, the son of Anton Suesterhenn and Maria of Metternich.
That the same person who had been married to Maria Moentenich married Katharine Krechel is based on the date of Maria’s death and the statement in Katharine’s marriage record that the Matthias Suesterhenn who married her was a widower. The marriage record for his third marriage also indicated that he was a widower.
Matthias and two of his sons, Johann and Anton, died on December 29, 1703, apparently due to violence.
