When Johann was born, his mother was unmarried and his father was not identified. When Johann died his father was identified as Balthasius Ring, husband of Margaretha. However this “marriage” was not mentioned when Margaretha married Lorenz Jungclas in 1801.

One of her baptismal sponsors was Anna Barbara (Mannebach) Schmitt of Wirfus. A single woman named Anna Margaretha Mannebach of Wirfus was a baptismal sponsor in 1787 for Anna Margaretha Emmerich, daughter of Peter Emmerich and Katharine Plawen of Wirfus. Margaretha was most likely that person.
