Notes for Anna Maria Huerter
Source: Records of St. Martin and St. Severus Catholic Church in Muenstermaifeld. Source of the year of her death: Manfred Ruettgers.
Her baptismal sponsors were [her grandfather] Johann Adam Esch of Muenstermaifeld and Anna Maria Weber, the wife of [her father’s brother] Johann Huerter of Neuhof, Wierschem.
She was a baptismal sponsor in 1771 for Anton, the son of Johann Georg Kieselbach and Anna Maria Puenger of Muenstermaifeld, and in 1772 for Anna Maria, the daughter of her first cousin Joseph Huerter and Anna Maria Puelicher of Muenstermaifeld.
The marriage record in 1774 identified her parents as Matthias Huerter and Maria of Muenstermaifeld. When she married in 1786 her name was given as Anna Maria Ackermann. Joseph Huerter of Muenstermaifeld witnessed her wedding in 1786, and this fact was a clue to learning her maiden name.
When her children were born in the 1790s the baptismal records gave her maiden name of Huerter. This allowed the connection with the widow of Johann Ackermann.
