In 1850 and 1860 he and his family lived in Sheffield Township, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1860 two people from Germany lived with them, Eunice Kelly (?) who was 73 and worked as a domestic, and John (Kelly?) who was 65. They may have been his parents.
