Peter and his wife and four children—Nicolas (aged 17), Maria Ann (aged 11), Catherine (aged 2), and Maria (aged 2 months), sailed from Antwerp, Belgium on the ship “Plato.” Catherine died on board ship on July 12, 1843. The ship arrived at New York, New York on August 16, 1863.
In 1850 he and his family lived in Avon, Lorain County, Ohio. His son Nikolaus and Nikolaus’ wife and son lived with Peter’s family.
