In 1900 he lived in Avon, Lorain County, Ohio with the family of Martin and Mary Rink. His mother Margaret may have lived next door. In 1910 at the time of his marriage to Mary Eleanore Diederich he lived in French Creek, Avon. In 1920 he lived in North Ridgeville, Lorain County with his two sons and his second wife, Mary Eleanore’s first cousin Lidwina Catherine Diederich. In 1930 he and his wife Lidwina lived with his two sons and Lidwina’s sister Theresa Diederich. In 1940 he and Lidwina lived in North Ridgeville with John’s two sons.
He resided in North Ridgeville and died in a hospital in Elyria, Lorain County.
