In 1880 she lived with her grandmother Anna Mary Minnich as well as her uncle Anton Minnich and his family in North Ridgeville, Lorain County, Ohio.
Her home was in Lagrange near Elyria, Lorain County. She died of breast cancer.

In 1910 he and his family lived in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. The federal census spelled his last name Tearnus and that was interpreted as Teamus.
His wives Anna Weber and Mary Weber were sisters.
John Ternes, Jr. was a third cousin of both Anna and Mary Weber. They were the gg grandchildren of Anton Ackermann and Margarete Gilles.
