Source: Ancestry.com—Pitts Family Tree.
The Pitts Family Tree provided his birth and death information.
He was enumerated twice in the 1880 census:
1. He, his wife and children were enumerated in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Bavaria was listed as his birthplace.
2. He was also enumerated with his parents in Avon, Lorain County, Ohio. In that record New York was listed as his birthplace. In both cases painter was given as his occupation.
His children’s entries in the 1900 census indicate that their father was born in New York State rather than in “Bavaria” as stated in the 1880 census. The same information is given in the 1910 census for his son Urban’s father.
In 1900 he lived in Avon, Lorain County, Ohio with his sister Emma and her husband Reuben Wilford, as well as their children and Anton’s mother Mary.
