Notes for Mary Catharine Diederich
Source: Diederich family history by Mary Catharine Diederich.
She was the author of the original version of the Diederich family history used as a source for this work.
In 1870 she was listed on the census with her brother Frank’s family in Elyria, Lorain County, with the notation that she was “at school.” In 1880 she was apparently living with her parents in Sheffield, Lorain County. The census listing described her as “son’s wife” who was 20 years old, but Nicholas and Gertrude Diederich did not have a daughter-in-law named Mary at that time.
In 1900 she lived with her sister Catharine Mary in Elyria. In 1910 she lived with her sister Catharine Mary in North Ridgeville, next door to her brother Frank Diederich, his wife and daughter Mary Eleanore.
She died in Cleveland but had been living in North Ridgeville, Lorain County, Ohio. Her cause of death was epilepsy and myocarditis.
Mary Catherine was a single woman.
