He sailed with his parents and siblings Gertrude and Anna from Le Havre, France on the ship “Waverly,” arriving in New York, New York on August 28,1847. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
In 1860 he lived with his parents and siblings in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1870 Anthony and his wife Gertrude and daughter Anna lived in Elyria. In 1880 he and his family lived in East Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. In 1900 they lived in Elyria. In 1910 he lived in Elyria with daughters Anna and Albena. In 1920 and 1930 he lived in Elyria with Anna.
He died at the home of his nephew, George Surman, in Elyria.
