Peter and his wife and eight children sailed from London, England on the ship “Diadem,” arriving in New York, New York on August 12, 1846.
In 1850 he lived with his wife and six of his children in North Ridgeville, Lorain County, Ohio. They lived next door to Johann Mathias Myers and his family. In 1860 he and his wife and daughter Mary lived with his daughter Margaret, her husband Clemens Alten, their children and Clemens’ brother Matthias in Avon, Lorain County.
